Lorenzo Massa is a researcher, educator, speaker and strategy, innovation and sustainability advisor.

He is Full Professor at the Business School Aalborg University (AAU), managing director of the Business Design Lab at AAU, member of the expert network (innovation) at World Economic Forum, and adjunct faculty at EPFL-EMBA, at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), at the International Academy of Sport Science and Technology (AISTS) and at the Bologna Business School (BBS).

He has been scientist at the College du Management (CDM) of EPFL, visiting researcher at the Wharton School (UPENN), at the MIT Sloan School of Management and at the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and Assistant Professor at WU.

His research lies at the intersection of Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability, also with a focus on science and high-tech entrepreneurship.

He is active as a strategy, innovation and sustainability advisor to executives of companies across industries and he is board member of for-profit and non-for-profit organizations.

He holds graduate degrees with distinctions in Mechanical Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology (B. Eng.) and the University of Genoa (M.Sc. Eng.) and a Master and a Ph.D. from IESE Business School. As an engineer, he worked for SMS Demag in the iron and steel making industry.
